A Note from Tim Quigley

Welcome to Autumn

In addition to apple picking, fall foliage, and football games, it’s also a busy conference season. At CloudWave, we have a packed schedule over the next six weeks. Our biggest event will be MEDITECH LIVE next week in Foxborough. We’re hosting the Welcome Reception with our friends at ACS MediHealth, Forward Advantage, and Interlace Health. We hope you’ll be able to stop by for drinks and food. We know many of you will be traveling that day, so we keep the event very informal. Stop by any time and grab a drink and a quick bite. We look forward to seeing you.

The following week is MUN, the conference for hospitals running MEDITECH in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It’s a great opportunity to see our friends and customers in Liverpool each year. (I’m hoping the planning teams will give us a week to rest between the two events next year.) While I’m in Liverpool, we’ll also have teams in Chicago at the Becker’s conference and in Austin at the TORCH conference. If you’re attending any of these events, please take a moment to catch up with our team members there.

For many of you, Fall is also budget season; if CloudWave can help you with any budgetary guidance or quotes, please let us know. One last item: Ransomware events continue to occur at an almost epidemic rate. Our operations team spent their entire Labor Day weekend helping a customer restore their on-premises environment. Please ensure that you have backups covering your entire environment and have practiced responding to a ransomware event. If you need assistance with an assessment of your backup environment or help with a Tabletop Exercise, please let us know. We are happy to help.

Tim Quigley is the Chief Client Officer at CloudWave.

Dissecting the Anatomy of a Healthcare Breach: Lessons Learned

Security breaches impact health systems clinically as well as in IT. Cyberattacks can be as devastating as natural disasters, including tornadoes or hurricanes, and potentially endanger patient lives. CloudWave recently held a webinar outlining the anatomy of a healthcare breach, where we evaluated recent occurrences and discussed what safeguards healthcare organizations can take to mitigate risks and get back up and running faster should one hit their organization.

Customer Appreciation Night

CloudWave and Dell Technologies
August 27 was a great evening for a ball game as both customers and CloudWave team members gathered to watch the Cincinnati Reds take on the Oakland Athletics at the Great American Ball park in Cincinnati last month. Can you spot the retired CloudWave salesperson?

Meet Jeff Miller

Service Center Manager

Many CloudWave employees have spent their careers in healthcare IT.

Jeff Miller is the face of the CloudWave technical support department. As a Service Center Manager, Jeff ensures the team provides the ultimate 24/7 support that our hospital customers have come to rely on.

Coming to CloudWave almost a decade ago, Jeff brought with him an extensive 30-year career in technical support management within numerous industries, including finance, insurance, and pharmaceuticals.

“I want to ensure our support consistently exceeds our customer’s expectations. CloudWave was my smartest career decision, as I feel I’ve been part of a family for the past nine years.”

When not overseeing the support department, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife, twin daughters, and two dogs. He also has a passion for landscaping, golf, and Fantasy Football. Jeff was also the winner of the CloudWave Fantasy League in 2020.

When asked what he most enjoys about working in healthcare?

“I know every little thing has a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals.”
