Many healthcare organizations are still operating in reactive mode — responding to alerts, plugging holes, and relying on outdated perimeter defenses. But today’s risk landscape demands something different.

Advanced Protection for Backup
At CloudWave, ensuring your Backup data remains protected and available has always been paramount – which is why we’ve heard your feedback and are excited to introduce Advanced Protection for Backup.
Advanced Protection for Backup performs deep file scans on your Backup data, alerting CloudWave to the presence of hidden ransomware, insider threats, and other indicators of non-recoverability.

Meet Andrew Donaldson
Associate Product Manager
Many CloudWave employees have spent their careers in healthcare IT.
As CloudWave’s Associate Product Manager, Andrew Donaldson helps improve and expand CloudWave’s product offerings to make life easier for our customers. He uncovers challenges and turns them into meaningful product improvements by collaborating with our engineering, operations, sales, and security teams.
Andrew joined CloudWave in 2022 after graduating in 2021 with a major in English with a technical writing concentration. While a student, Andrew interned as a research analyst and technical writer for nonprofit organizations.
“My favorite parts were performing deep research and delivering meaningful insights into ways to help the communities we served.”
Andrew believes CloudWave offered a unique opportunity to apply his skills in a new and impactful way.
He also serves as a bridge between departments that focus on both internal work and customer-facing ones to ensure that CloudWave is “building and delivering solutions that solve real problems.” Andrew closely monitors market trends and customer feedback to find new ways to enhance our products’ experience and value. In addition, he supports go-to-market planning, product launches, and internal enablement efforts to communicate what we build and why it matters.
Andrew recently moved to Maine and looks forward to spending more time outdoors hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, and in the winter, skiing. He also loves to travel and experience new places, foods, and cultures. When he’s not reading or writing, he also enjoys snorkeling.
“I spend a lot of time in the summer snorkeling – people think that New England isn’t a great place to do so, but there are gem locations all along the coast with rich underwater ecosystems that are accessible and beautiful, as long as you can get past the chilly water.”
Andrew also loves to cook.
“I’m constantly trying to improve my recipes; my crown jewel dish is probably my spicy vodka-sauce pasta.”
When asked what Andrew likes most about working in health care?
“Healthcare is a challenging industry, but the most rewarding. The rural health systems that CloudWave serves are critical resources for each of their respective communities, and it is nice to see my work contribute directly or indirectly to helping these hospitals operate smoothly and support patient care. There is a sense of purpose in healthcare that is hard to find in other industries.”
