A Note from John DiMaggio

BlueOrange Compliance and CloudWave

In June, our company, BlueOrange Compliance enthusiastically joined the CloudWave family of companies. We are excited not only because of the possibilities but also because CloudWave and BlueOrange Compliance share a common vision.

Even before joining forces, both companies have been working diligently to provide cybersecurity and compliance services to the healthcare community.

Like CloudWave, BlueOrange Compliance has always believed in the importance of a solid cyber and compliance strategy for healthcare.

Today, we both believe hospitals must treat compliance as part of a broader, more dynamic cyber risk management strategy. Together, we’ll begin unlocking even greater value for all of our customers. As we move ahead, BlueOrange Compliance will provide a more in-depth compliance and cybersecurity perspective to CloudWave’s customers, and our BlueOrange Compliance customers will have access to a wide range of security, private, hybrid, and multi-cloud strategies, always with healthcare-specific performance, security, compliance, and reliability at the core.

All of us at BlueOrange Compliance are pleased to now be part of the CloudWave family and look forward to helping support, strengthen, and safeguard all of our customers in the near future.

John DiMaggio is the CEO for BlueOrange Compliance.

Ask a CIO

CloudWave asks Customer CIOs to share their perspectives and advice

We spoke with Crissy Willis, Vice President and CIO for Med Center Health in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Med Center Health is a not-for-profit integrated healthcare system serving the Southcentral Kentucky region.

What was the most pivotal decision you made in your career that shaped how technology was used for patient care in your hospital?
I would say the upgrade of our EMR led to better adoption when we started using it as a strategic tool for clinical excellence rather than just an IT system. It changed our organization’s mindset. It built stronger partnerships between IT and clinical leadership and positioned technology as a quality driver, not just efficiency. We involved the physicians and nurses in building the system, leading to better adoption.

Looking back, what’s one lesson you learned the hard way when trying to implement change in a clinical environment?
I’ve learned that when implementing change, never underestimate the importance of frontline clinical buy-in, not just from leadership but from day-to-day users like nurses, technicians, and physicians. You sometimes assume that adoption would naturally follow with end users if the solution is aligned with the leadership’s goals. But that’s not always the case. You have to communicate consistently, engage the users, and listen to them. This will show them that the change ultimately supports their workflows and patient care.

If you could give your younger self one piece of advice at the start of your CIO journey, what would it be?
Focus on and trust the power of relationships, especially with clinical stakeholders. I think it’s essential to have good relationships with providers, nurses, and even the ancillary areas. I think it’s also important to have a true partnership with your vendors, especially those that support and help support the EMR. As CIO, I depend on those partnerships to assist me with strategic planning and resolving key issues.

Every healthcare cybersecurity team knows the feeling: a flood of alerts pour in from your security tools, but only a few truly matter, and finding them in time can feel impossible. Meet the CloudWave Employee

Lilly Davis
Marketing Events Coordinator

Many CloudWave employees have spent their careers in healthcare IT.

Lilly Davis loves to bring things together.

As the Marketing Events Coordinator for CloudWave, Lilly manages all the moving parts behind CloudWave’s event presence—from coordinating with hosting organizations and the sales team to shipping materials and creating checklists to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

“I especially love helping with booth layouts at major conferences like HIMSS and MUSE—watching it all come together on site is sensational.”

She started with small dinner events in the function room of a restaurant in Marlborough, and discovered how much she enjoyed logistics, decorating, and—most of all—bringing people together. That love quickly grew as I took on larger events like birthday parties and weddings. I even had the fantastic opportunity to work on the coordination team for the Sundance Film Festival in Park City.”

Lilly claims she was event coordinating “before I knew it could be a career.”

She also researches new events to help both Marketing and Sales evaluate their value. Since events can be approached in different ways, Lilly provides costs and logistics for all potential opportunities, including attending, sponsoring, and exhibiting.

“While I’ll always appreciate the energy of social events, I found my true passion in corporate event planning—especially when there’s still room for personal connection, like dinners or cocktail hours. I never expected to land in healthcare IT, but when I heard about CloudWave, I was excited to do what I love while contributing to something bigger than just planning a great party.”

Outside of work, Lilly loves hiking, camping, and kayaking, and says she is happiest when she’s outside with her dog and a book.

“I also volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and am lucky to be matched with a Little Sister who is as high-energy as I am!”

When asked what she loves most about working in healthcare?

“I believe that my work has an impact on our customers and the patients they serve. It’s meaningful to play a small part in something that genuinely helps people.”
