Cloud Hosting is an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution providing secure hosting for healthcare EHR and enterprise applications. The service includes fully managed compute, storage, disaster recovery, archiving, backup, security, and systems management.

CloudWave’s managed cloud services are built to exceed all healthcare security and compliance requirements. We deliver a consistent level of service and performance throughout varying workload cycles, evolving application usage, and system growth.

Cloud Hosting uses leading cloud technologies to deliver highly available, scalable systems to our healthcare customers. CloudWave manages your hypervisors, operating system patching, user access, domain authentication, and intrusion detection. Cloud Hosting offers a predictable monthly expense for all-inclusive hosting services while allowing you to scale resources on demand to meet your needs.

Services include:

  • Computing Infrastructure – Cloud Hosting includes all physical and virtual compute infrastructure, including the provisioning and management of the guest OS. VM operating systems are patched monthly to ensure a current security stance.
  • Storage TiersStorage is provided and protected, available in multiple tiers to match application performance requirements and organizational budgets.
  • Migration Services – CloudWave’s expert engineers seamlessly migrate data from the customer’s operating environment to the cloud.
  • Backup and ArchiveBackups are configured and implemented in the cloud. Data is backed up daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly to meet compliance requirements and enable fast data restoration.
  • Disaster Protection – Cloud Hosting includes disaster recovery protections. Options for recovery point and recovery time objectives are available.
  • Access – Virtual Desktops and Apps with multi-factor authentication provide secure access to end-users.
  • Domain Management—Options for Active Directory and domain management are available to meet various budget and security requirements.
  • Professional ServicesCloudWave consults with customers to plan and manage their migration to the cloud. Our team of professional technical consultants and project managers will assist with telecommunications planning and optimization to ensure the overall success of their project.
  • Application Support – Cloud Hosting infrastructure is fully supported with CloudWave’s CloudCare support.

Supported Software

CloudWave will accept, support, and manage all operating systems of any version still supported by its OEM. Any software which has been relegated to End of Life status (e.g. Windows Server 2008) must be upgraded before a migration to the CloudWave cloud.

FAQs

During the onsite assessment of my environment, what will CloudWave look for?

CloudWave will perform a comprehensive review of your current environment and requirements, including network bandwidth, access methodologies (end-user devices), storage, replication, and backup use cases. Then, we’ll align your capabilities and needs with your EHR application goals.

How is my Cloud Hosting implementation managed?

CloudWave dedicates a Project Manager to every Cloud Hosting implementation. The Project Manager will liaison with key contacts from every stakeholder, including your EHR application provider and other vendors. Every phase of your implementation will be managed by a CloudWave PM, including your introduction to the CloudWave support model when implementation is complete.

After I’m onboarded, will CloudWave make time to review my account and service history with me?

Yes, the Customer Success Managers at CloudWave will develop a schedule with you to discuss account activity, trends or identify potential issues. In some cases, customers are invited to participate in a larger “Customer Council” to discuss innovations in healthcare. Ask your CloudWave Salesperson for more info.

Does CloudWave need access to my Active Directory?

Yes, during implementation CloudWave will work with you to setup your Active Directory in the CloudWave environment.

NOTE: Current minimum supported OS version for Horizon View is: Windows Server 2012R2.

Does CloudWave manage renewals and refreshes of my cloud software and hardware?

Yes, all underlying hardware and software required to run your applications is provided, licensed, renewed, and fully managed by CloudWave.

What encryption standards are used during data replication?

CloudWave follows NIST standards at a minimum, current encryption used for transport is TLS 1.2.

Does CloudWave offer multi-factor authentication (MFA)?

MFA is a requirement to access Cloud Hosting. CloudWave offers this functionality but can also integrate with an existing MFA solution you may already have deployed. Any MFA solution which supports OAuth or SAML 2.0 is compatible with CloudWave.

Can CloudWave help me better secure my virtual desktop environment?

Yes, CloudWave has a list of best practices and user policies we recommend for your VDI sessions to offer both protection and flexibility, such as setting mandatory session termination after a period of inactivity, etc.

Does Cloud Hosting include Disaster Recovery?

Yes, your Cloud Hosting environment is replicated to another Datacenter or Region so we can restore you back to operations in the event of a major disaster at your primary site.
