CloudWave’s Mark Middleton, Vice President, Cloud Services & Chief Quality Officer Receives Patriot Award

U.S. Air Force Reservist Senior Master Sergeant Andrew Branning is the Director of the Project Management Office and Quality at CloudWave. Andrew recently returned from an overseas deployment and nominated his direct supervisor, Mark Middleton, Vice President of Cloud Services & Chief Quality Officer at CloudWave, for the Patriot Award.

The Patriot Award is established through the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense program. The Award allows citizen warriors to recognize supervisors and managers for direct support, including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.

Sergeant Branning commented on why he wanted to recognize Middleton for the support he receives as an active Reservist. Mark has been very flexible, allowing me time off to travel to my drill location. When I was tasked with deployment, he was helpful in selecting a replacement to perform my work while I was away. Also, while I was deployed CloudWave continued to provide benefits as well as the difference in salary between my civilian position and military position. This support made it possible for me to continue to be of service to my country.”

Sergeant Branning has been in the U.S. Air Force for over 27 years, with 7 years of active duty and more than 20 years in the Reserve.

“It’s an honor to receive the Patriot Award,” Mark Middleton said. “Supporting our active and reserve military personnel and making it possible for them to serve while contributing as civilian employees is something both I and the CloudWave organization are strongly committed to. Andrew is a valued employee and I was pleased to help make the transition to deployment and back into his role at CloudWave as seamless as possible for him.”

During his recent deployment, Senior Master Sergeant Branning distinguished himself by outstanding achievement as a Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing Command Section. As the Wing Command Chief’s key advisor, he seamlessly organized more than 400 events and distinguished visitor engagements, developed procedures, and singlehandedly administered the wing’s awards and promotion program. Sergeant Branning’s accomplishments resulted in a nomination for a Meritorious Service Medal.
